Joshua David Duhamel is an American actor and former fashion model. After various modeling work, he made his acting debut as Leo du Pres on the ABC daytime soap opera All My Children and later starred as Danny McCoy on NBC's Las Vegas.

Joshua David Duhamel was born in Minot, North Dakota. His mother, Bonny L., is a retired high school teacher, and the Executive Director of Minot's Downtown Business & Profession Association, and his father, Larry Duhamel, is an advertisement salesman. Josh has three younger sisters: Ashlee, McKenzee and Kassidy. His ancestry is German, and smaller amounts of Norwegian, French-Canadian, English, Irish, and Austrian (his last name is very common among Francophones in the world). Before his acting career, the football player studied biology and earned his Bachelor's degree at Minot State University with the intention of pursuing dentistry.

Career :

Josh Duhamel started his career by working for a construction company when he was 26 years old.

While working in the construction company, he got introduced to the entertainment industry by chance.

In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, California, on the insistence of his girlfriend to start a career in modeling.

In 2005, he wanted to become an entrepreneur and opened a restaurant with his friend in Minto, North Dakota.

Soon, his modeling experience helped him land an acting job when he appeared for an audition. He passed the test and was given the lead role in the film The Picture of Dorian Gray, based on a novel written by Oscar Wilde.

Josh was selected by Executive Producer Steven Spielberg for the role of Captain William Lennox in the sci-fi film Transformers: Dark of the Moon, directed by Michael Bay in 2007. He starred alongside Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf in the blockbuster.

His other films include Life as We Know It (2010) and When in Rome (2010). In the former, he appeared opposite Katherine Heigl.

He also acted in The Romantics alongside Anna Paquin and Katie Holmes. He was then seen in Ramona and Beezus.

In 2011, he appeared in the film New Year’s Eve. Directed by Garry Marshall, the film also starred actors like Robert De Niro, Halle Berry, Hilary Swank, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

He also starred opposite Julianne Hough in the film Safe Haven. Directed by Lasse Hallstrom and released in 2013, the film is based on a very popular novel written by Nicholas Sparks.

Duhamel also appeared in a film titled Scenic Route. Released in 2013, the film is about the story of two friends who get stranded in the middle of a desert.

His next appearance was in the film You’re Not You in 2014. Directed by George C. Wolfe, the film saw Duhamel appear alongside Hilary Swank and Emmy Rossum.

In 2015, he appeared in films like Lost in the Sun and Bravetown.

He appeared alongside stars like Hugh Jackman, Richard Gere, Emma Stone, Kate Winslet, and Halle Berry in the film Movie 43, which was directed by Patrik Forsberg and Peter Farrelly.

In 2016, he starred in Misconduct and the biographical film Spaceman.

In 2017, he reprised his role as William Lennox in Transformers: The Last Knight, the fifth instalment of the Transformers film series.

In 2018, he was cast to play Jack Spier in Love, Simon. The following year, he was seen in Capsized: Blood in the Water and The Buddy Games.

In 2020, he was seen playing James O'Connor in Vicky Wight's romance film The Lost Husband in which he was paired opposite Leslie Bibb. The movie was based on the novel of the same name by Katherine Center.
